How to photograph your pet

A great painting starts with a great picture...
Here are some tips on how to get that picture

Having great photos of your pet is essential for a great portrait.  I work from several photos but usually choose only one to create the portrait.
Close ups for detail is very important as there is always emphasis on the eyes.  It is also important that all the photos are consistent in color, so try to take the photos in the same lighting.  Outdoor natural light is always best.  Take your pictures on your 'Pets Level'.  Most of all, make sure to have fun with your pet while taking the pictures.  Try to capture the true character of your pets personality.
